Can a metal sculpture become the language of the future – a form of extraterrestrial communication? With his characteristic precision and fearless curiosity, Oskar Zięta transforms this question into action. His practice not only disregards the boundaries between disciplines; it boldly charts new trajectories for art, technology and imagination.

Sculpting with air, Zięta creates manifestos while sketching his own vision of a reflected world. As his Whispers resonate through the streets of London and the arches of NAWA mirror both the sky and the history of architecture, it becomes difficult to resist the impression that Zięta is redefining the role of sculpture itself. His work is a unique artistic and orbital journey into the hidden potential of material — a relentless pursuit of achieving more through less.

SCULPTOR 4.0


His chisel is air. He sculpts through technology, process and deformation. He stabilises delicate metal membranes, transforming them into three-dimensional forms. And by embracing the very notion of public sculpture, he seeks to transform places as well.

Zięta juxtaposes the technological deformation of cold steel with the subtlety of artistic creation. He pushes the material to its physical limits while revealing its unexpected optical softness. Every project emerges from the fusion of an architect's spatial sensibility, an engineer's precision and an artist's intuition. His work embodies decades of research, a profound fascination with material and an uncompromising artistic vision.

Oskar Zięta's fascination with metal began in early childhood, when he spent countless hours in his grandfather's blacksmith's workshop. There he observed the forging process, heavy tools and the physical labour they demanded. Yet what fascinated him most was transformation itself — the moment when something shapeless and seemingly insignificant acquired a new form and a new meaning. It is this continuous act of transformation that remains the foundation of his artistic practice today.

REFLECTED EMOTIONS


One of the defining characteristics of most of Zięta's works is their highly polished surface, lending them an exceptional aesthetic presence and an almost immaculate perfection. The effect is both commanding and deeply personal: it overwhelms the viewer while simultaneously allowing them to recognise themselves as part of the work itself.

The universe of forms and sculptures created by Zięta is conceived as a dialogue between object, space and observer. It stretches from pure geometry, formal reduction and abstraction to tangible forms, amorphous structures and biological references; from stylisation to figuration, while remaining a continuous exploration of sculpture's enduring search for form.

Among the most distinctive qualities of his works is their extraordinary lightness — appearing precisely where we instinctively expect weight. His sculptures refuse to reveal their secret. They deceive the eye, reflect their surroundings and challenge perception itself. Zięta invites us to see differently.

His works complete the places in which they are installed. Every object is unique; no two are ever identical. Although their titles often refer to their formal characteristics, each bears its own singular deformation. From a technological perspective they are the outcome of sophisticated material research. From the viewer's perspective they become mirrors of reality — reflected, distorted and multiplied.

THE ART OF BIONICS


Nature, reflected in polished steel, mirrors the bionic fascinations that lie at the heart of Zięta's artistic practice. His observation of complex biological structures and natural processes has profoundly shaped the development of FiDU technology.

Perhaps its most evocative analogy can be found in the wings of a dragonfly, which alter their shape and volume as the insect prepares for flight. Through a complex biological process, delicate capillary structures become rigid, load-bearing elements, inflated by bodily fluids. FiDU follows a remarkably similar principle, with one crucial difference: steel is stabilised by air. It is a process of free deformation driven by internal pressure, which Zięta describes as volumetric expansion — achieving structural stability through an increase in volume.

By studying the chitinous shells of beetles, blades of grass and the wings of dragonflies, Zięta discovers inspiration for successive technological experiments and artistic manifestos. Organic, intelligent and precisely adapted forms become the point of departure for research and development, ultimately evolving into an artistic narrative about ultra-lightness, stability and reflection.
